Let’s be real here. The first Saw: utterly genius, thought-provoking, scary. The following Saw movies: quality descreasing with each sequel. I mean, each had its good points, but none of them had the simple, fear-inducing brilliance of the first. I liked Saw VI a lot because I went in thinking I was paying $20 for another Saw clunker, but came out of the theater wholly surprised and pleased. The latest Saw installment takes on a whole new evil: American health insurance companies. Hello, political/social commentary! But not to worry. The “games” victims must play are, again, simple once more and especially terrifying. There is no insanely complicated, gear-turning, limb-twisting machines here. Just good, old-fashioned, live or die games. I thoroughly enjoyedthe whole movie, but I’m concerned that the people who keep raising this overdone series from the dead will be able to make something out of the ending, where I felt all loose ends were tied except for a minor one.
All in all, good movie. Worth my poor college student money.

Confession… I haven’t seen any of the Saw movies. I’ll have to check them out sometime.
Definitely see the first Saw! It’s really good. Quite disturbing!
i like the first saw movie, but then the rest just got really crazy to me. i’ve seen up to saw IV, but that’s where i lost all interest. i hear the latest one is pretty good, so i just may go check that one out.
Oh yeah, the rest got too nuts, too confusing. But this one is good! they take on the healthcare companies in an awesome way, sweet twist ending. I loved this one.
I heard Paranormal Activity is supposed to be REALLY scary and better than Saw VI. It did better in the box office than Saw did.
Yeah, I feel like that’s because people are so fed up with the whole Saw franchise. I love giving money to support underdog movies though, so I’m going to go see Paranormal Activity.
I’m really looking forward to seeing 2012. Its not a horror movie but if you really think about it the end of the world sounds pretty scary to me. Hopefully it doesn’t go down 3 years from now but I’m still going to live life to it’s fullest every single day
Ha ha ha what a great opportunity to seize upon! I’m extra excited to see 2012 because the special effects look ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I did a paper my freshman year about Mayan astronomy, that’s what the 2012 theory was based upon. They did their calendar a long time ago. Hellooooooooo!! We are not dying December 21, 2012!!
I was also very surprised Paranormal Activity took first place in the box office over the new Saw movie. I have heard a lot about both movies. However, I am very excited to see Saw VI. I have watched all the Saw movies and am glad you thought the newest one was interesting. Worth my poor college student money for sure!
Yes it’s worth the money! I haven’t seen Paranormal Activity, but I recognize the style of it, documentary-ish, which I’m not totally sold on.
I haven’t watched any of the Saw movies except for the last part of Saw V, surprisingly I didn’t get scared. But I hope that one day I can watch all of them.
