My dear friend Adam Palmer is working as a consultant on a new movie coming out late 2010. Not only is he a horror movie lover, he actually got to make money loving them. I’m jealous.
1. Without telling me any of the details of the movie, can you give me a rundown of your position and what duties you have?
I will be working as a Technical Adviser/Consultant. My job is in its simplest form, to make the movie scarier. I will be working to design scenes in such a way as to maximize the audiences reactions to the film. I will do this through how the actors act, the cameras shoot the scenes and how they are edited.
2. Who is your favorite horror director and why?
My favorite horror director is John Carpenter. I believe that he sees horror in its purest form. He knows that it’s what’s in the shadows that is the scariest. And he was very successful in doing this with the original Halloween.
3. What is your favorite horror movie of all time?
The Exorcist. It is raw and brilliant at the same time. The film is so real that you feel for the girl and the priest. You really feel what they are feeling and it is terrifying.
4. What horror movie are you anticipating the release of the most?
I think of the upcoming horror films, I am most excited to see the remake of Nightmare on Elm St. Brad Fuller and him and Michael Bay’s company Platinum Dunes have done a great job bringing back the classics like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th. So, I am excited to see what they do with this. Besides that, I am very excited for The Wolfman.
5. We are super good friends who both love zombies. In fact, we love them (and each other) so much that we dressed up and saw Zombieland. How did you like it?
Zombieland was AMAZING! I am a huge fan of Zombie movies and definitely see this one as an original. I was very impressed that it kept with the hilarious theme depicted in the Trailers. And the Zombies were great!
